Hi! I’m a veteran journalist with extensive expertise in sports business, crypto, media, big tech, and retail. I also review books, mostly literary fiction. I’ve appeared on CNN, CBS, Fox Business, BBC, ESPN, ABC Radio, Golf Channel, NPR, and more.
I’m the former Editor in Chief of Decrypt, where I recruited a team of writers and editors, led news strategy, launched and hosted the gm podcast, planned and emceed live events, and moderated panels at conferences around the world.
Before Decrypt, I spent 5+ years at Yahoo Finance, where I covered sports business and crypto, interviewed hundreds of executives and pro athletes, and hosted a weekly podcast called Sportsbook, a daily 1-hour live show called YFi A.M., and a daily 1-minute social video series called Business + Coffee.
Before Yahoo, I spent 5+ years at Fortune, where I wrote magazine profiles on companies like DraftKings, Adidas, Yelp, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and MasterCard, and people like Leigh Steinberg, Louis Freeh, Will.i.am, Dwayne Johnson, David Chang, George Foreman, Cal Ripken, and Gary Player. I also co-managed the 40 Under 40 franchise and conducted many of the onstage interviews at our All Markets Summit live conferences.
I’m the author of Zoom: Surprising Ways to Supercharge Your Career, a 2013 book about business leaders who made Fortune‘s 40 Under 40 list. I serve on the boards of the Deadline Club and the Carnegie Fund for Authors.
